I read a lot of the reviews before coming here and I just have to say I don't agree with any of it! I recently moved here from California and I was craving pupusas. I am Salvadoreña and let me tell you, i'm very picky about my pupusas. Everything was 10/10, only thing that could be better is the salsita. That's just me being picky cuz the salsita is my favorite part. Overall, the food was great, service was great, and everything was timely. The restaurant was clean and had a very chill and relaxed atmosphere. Please give them a chance if you're in the area.

The Papusas we're fresh and had an amazing epic cheese pull. I wish the jalapeño ones had a little more kick to them! Or that they has some spicy salsa :) but it was worth it :)

Going south on Richey St after passing Southmore Ave, there are numerous Latin American stores which specifically features a number of different eating options. It can be overwhelming if you can't differentiate between one another. We were specifically looking for a pupusa place and Pupuseria Martinez stuck out because of its sign so it was natural we would give them a try in an area where Yelp seems to be of no help. All I really want to say is that this pupuseria is legit and surprisingly clean inside. The loroco con queso pupusa was my hands down favorite followed by the revuelta. There were just small bits of loroco in my pupusa but the cheese was melted and made it awesome. I've had better revuelta pupusas elsewhere but it was still really solid. On the menu, they only mention the revuelta which is a bit of a shame because they should definitely feature the loroco pupusa or whichever other ones they may offer. At $1.75/pupusa, it's just really hard to complain. They also have other traditional dishes like yuca con chicharron, sopa de gallina, pollo encebollado, carne asada, mojarra frita, and tamales (none of which I had time to try). I know where I'm going next time I head into Houston and want to get my El Salvadorean fix on.
